Frequently asked questions

Is LanternSecure™ an emergency service?

No. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first. LanternSecure™ gives guidance and arranges check-ins, but it cannot dispatch help.

What does the Intervene coach do?

You describe what you are seeing and it suggests a risk level and ordered steps (direct, distract, delegate, delay, document) with short lines you can say. It describes behaviours, never assumes guilt and never blames the potential victim. It is guidance, not a guarantee, and it does not replace training or your own judgement.

Does LanternSecure™ track my location?

No. Safe Return uses a timer only. We never ask for or store your location.

What happens in a Safe Return check-in?

You choose a time and up to five contact emails. Your contacts get an email straight away saying you named them. If you do not tap “I’m safe” by the deadline, they get an alert email. Contacts do not approve in advance, so only name people who expect to hear from you.

What data do you store?

Check-ins: your optional name or label, contact emails, and the deadline. Venue incident logs: type, zone, outcome and time only, with no names or personal details. Descriptions you type into the coach are not saved by us, but they are sent to our AI providers (Google Gemini and, as a backup, Groq) to produce the answer, so do not include names or identifying details.

How do venues and campuses get started?

Venues get an organisation key. They add their own written protocol so the coach follows it, log incidents anonymously, and receive pattern briefs once there is enough data. Contact us for a key.

What does the incident dashboard show?

Counts by zone, time of day and incident type over 90 days, plus an AI-written brief with suggested staffing, layout and training changes. It never identifies individuals.

What if the AI is unavailable?

The app tells you so and reminds you to call emergency services if anyone may be in danger. Check-ins and alerts keep working without the AI.

Which regions are supported?

The emergency banner covers the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the EU, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia, with a link to find a helpline elsewhere. Numbers can change, so confirm them locally.

How much does it cost?

Individuals use it at $8 per month. Venue plans start at $49 per month, and campus and enterprise pricing is custom.
